WD = {z => x + iy\ x Q R , y & D). The distinguished boundary of WD is the set {z = x+iy \ xÇzR, y = 0 } , i.e., just R. In this paper we consider the following problem. Let ƒ be a real function on R satisfying certain regularity conditions. What are the conditions for the existence of a holomorphic function F on WD such that ƒ is the limit of Re -Fas the variable approaches the distinguished boundary? An answer to this question was given by Hans Lewy in [2] for the case where D is the positive quadrant in R, i.e., where WD is equal to the product of two half planes. We are going to generalize Lewy's result in two directions: We shall consider the case of an arbitrary wedge domain, and we shall considerably relax the regularity conditions put on ƒ and F in [2], This additional generality is made possible by our method of proof, which consists in a systematic use of Fourier transform theory. We shall prove two theorems. Theorem 1 is the simplest formulation that can be proved by our method. Theorem 2 is of a more general nature (although it does not seem to imply Theorem 1). The basic idea of its proof is, however, the same, despite the technical complications involved by the Fourier transform theory of distributions. We denote by L and L the spaces of integrable, resp. squareintegrable functions on R. As usual, we denote by H(WD) the subspace of L consisting of the functions of form lim^o Fy where F(z) = F(x+iy) = Fy(x) is holomorphic in WD and {Fy\ y GD} is a bounded set in L. Let D* be the dual cone of D, i.e., the subset of the dual space of R consisting of the elements a such that (a, x)>0 for all XEJD. I t is known (Bochner [l]) that fEH(WD) if and only if ƒ is

A special subspace of weighted spaces of holomorphic functions on the upper half plane

In this paper, we intend to define and study concepts of weight and weighted spaces of holomorphic (analytic) functions on the upper half plane. We study two special classes of these spaces of holomorphic functions on the upper half plane. Firstly, we prove these spaces of holomorphic functions on the upper half plane endowed with weighted norm supremum are Banach spaces. Then, we investigate t...

Unsteady boundary layer flow of a Casson fluid past a wedge with wall slip velocity

In this paper an analysis is presented to understand the effect of non–Newtonian rheology, velocity slip at the boundary, thermal radiation, heat absorption/generation and first order chemical reaction on unsteady MHD mixed convective heat and mass transfer of Casson fluid past a wedge in the presence of a transverse magnetic field with variable electrical conductivity. The partial differential...

A remark on boundedness of composition operators between weighted spaces of holomorphic functions on the upper half-plane

In this paper, we obtain a sucient condition for boundedness of composition operators betweenweighted spaces of holomorphic functions on the upper half-plane whenever our weights are standardanalytic weights, but they don't necessarily satisfy any growth condition.

Local Reproducing Kernels on Wedge - Like Domains with Type 2

A striking fact about function theory in several variables is that, under suitable convexity hypotheses on a domain C n with n > 1, if z 0 2 is \close" to the boundary @, then there are representing measures for z 0 whose support on @ is compactly supported and \close" to z 0 , the projection of z 0 onto the boundary. This is false for domains in C , for general non-convex domains in C n , and ...

Holomorphic Extension from Boundaries with Concentrated Levi Form

We consider the problem of identifying boundary values of holomorphic functions on (non-smooth) bounded domains in C 2 with boundaries that are Levi-at oo of a small set. Assuming also that the domain is circular, we construct a type of extension operator from the algebra of bounded holomorphic functions on a leaf of the induced Levi-foliation to the algebra of bounded holomorphic functions on ...
